I'll assume you've named your database something other than dbmail?
NO my database is named dbmail however i did not create a user named
wedbmail just used the standard user dbmail but entered it into db.inc
and auth.inc like this
# database parameters
$db_database="dbmail";
$db_user="dbmail";
$db_pw="xxx";
$db_host="localhost";
$db_port="3306";
If so,
find the database connection code and update the database name. If I
remember, webdbmail has this all in one place so it shouldn't be hard.

Why would it be looking for dbmail.users should it not be dbmail_users.

looking at functions.inc thought it might have something to hostname so i

Had some trouble adding themes manually so i figured i would do through
admin do i need a theme to get admin page to work???
Hope these are not stupid questions have spent several hours on these
errors before posting. I have already pestered the authors of wedbmail
with a couple questions that i answered myself sorry folks.
