Also, lmtp should perform better in general (especially under high delivery load on postgres, where each database connection is expensive), but there are a few feature differences, too. Eg. with dbmail-smtp you can specify a mailbox to deliver to, which you may or may not require, depending on your setup (as dbmail does not have server-side filtering yet). Eg. 2 LMTP can check disk quotas and reject a message while your still has it's smtp connection open (if configured to do so), whereas with dbmail-smtp you generate an entirely new bounce message to return to the sender (and when the sending address is faked, eg. from spam, you can fill your mail queue with a lot of garbage).
