Demi:
Sounds like you now have a nice setup.

"The DBMA install is still not working it just wont create the mysql db."

Aha :o) Wait no longer. DBMA does *not* create the "mysql db" but expects you to have an existing MySQL or PostgreSQL DBMail database." Select "configuration" and away you go.

Hi Demi.
Here's the scoop. The modules on that pkg list seem a little old.
Here are the only two Debian pkg items you need for PERL 5.8.8_4 (yours) to
run with MySQL:

Hey Mike,
I did install from cpan and the DBI went through fine, I think but the
second one I had to do force install like you said. Below is the
result of that. Then I created the test db in mysql (I forgot that I
had deleted the test db) to do a reinstall and the result of that was
this:

cpan> r DBI
All modules are up to date for DBI

cpan> r DBD::mysql
All modules are up to date for DBD::mysql

I couldn't find an uninstall to start over.
The DBMA install is still not working it just wont create the mysql db.
Maybe the apt-get perl modules wore fine and the problem is somewhere
else but what else could it be?
Can you tell I am not feeling to good about this. cpan has always been
nothing but trouble for me ;) - How about I start learning all about
perl. How many years is that going to take. (If you are not already
then this would be a good time to smile Mike)
