Hi Kevin,
Since we have no documentation on socket file for dbmail-lmtp 2.0.10
and postfix, maybe some dbmail guru can help on this one.
To me it look's that dbmail-lmtp 2.0.10 does not support
socket file because no mather what i configure in dbmail.conf
the socket file never gets created.
Jacques, socket support was added in the 2.1 line, and is not available
for 2.0.
So I added the socket line in the [LMTP] section of
/etc/dbmail/dbmail.conf, and restarted dbmail. No luck yet.
meaning?
It does not connection. When watching the postfix log, it show an attempt to
deliver to lmtp. It is deferring the message. When I remove the socket setting
from the dbmail.conf file and switch the main.cf back to localhost:24 everything
delivers fine, including the previously deferred messages.
So I'm assuming either the socket is not working or I have my configuration
setup incorrectly to use the socket.
I was having similar issues with sasl until I switched the socket to the postfix
dir, due to the chroot postfix install in debian sarge. I'm guessing it might be
related.
This thread
has me curious. I'm assuming that the socket connection would be faster
than TCP to LMTP.
That is the assumption.
