I'm seeing something perhaps similar.

I'm trying to copy about 1GB of email (around 30k messages) from an old
dbmail server to a new one. Both are running 2.2.1 from the debian
packages. I'm using imapcopy to do the transfer and when it starts all
is well, However looking at the memory usage on the "from" machine the
dbmail-imapd process starts chewing memory like crazy. After about 5000
messages it reaches the limit of memory and everything stops. What can I
do to find the problem?
The from machine has 256mb ram and is running ubuntu 6.06 dapper.
