FYI, the 2.2.4-1 package I just picked up via apt-get fixed my problem.

Make sure you install the build-dependencies.

apt-get build-dep dbmail

should do the trick, assuming you have a deb-src entry for either
debian.org or debian.nfgd.net

Before releasing 2.2.4 I need to verify Aaron's fix of bug #520. Other
than that all lights are green atm.
