Hi All, Again I am very sorry for confusing things! I had forgotten to put the password in my dbmail.conf After putting the password in dbmail.conf, I get yet another error: [EMAIL PROTECTED] dbmail-users -a john -w john123 Error collation mismatch, your MySQL configuration specifies a different charset than the data currently in your DBMail database. Failed. Could not connect to database (check log) Command failed. I have the following in my dbmai.conf: # # encoding must match the database/table encoding. # encoding = utf8 # # messages with unknown encoding will be assumed to have # default_msg_encoding # default_msg_encoding = utf8 # I changed both to latin1 and now it works!! [EMAIL PROTECTED] dbmail-users -a john -w john123 Adding INBOX for new user... ok. Done john:x:4:0:0.00:0.00: I know that it is a first and simple task but I am ready for the real and hard stuff coming my way. Thanks to all and your patience. I will keep in touch. Thanking you... > > Any further help will be appreciated. > > I am also googling and hope to come up with some help. > > > Thanking you... > > > > > Hi Marc, > > > > Thanks for your prompt reply. > > It seems that the database driver was blank. > > > > However, even after selecting the backend database driver as mysql, I am > > still getting the same error. > > > > #dbmail-users -a john -w john123 > > > > FATAL unsupported driver: , please choose from MySQL, PGSQL, SQLite > > > > > > > > Below are the relevant parts of my /etc/dbmail.conf > > > > # (c) 2000-2006 IC&S, The Netherlands > > # > > # Configuration file for DBMAIL > > > > [DBMAIL] > > # > > # Database settings > > # > > > > # > > # Supported drivers are mysql, pgsql, sqlite. > > # > > #driver = > > driver = mysql > > > > # > > # Supported drivers are sql, ldap. > > # > > #authdriver = > > authdriver = sql > > > > # > > # Host for database, set to localhost if database is on > > # the same host as dbmail and you want to use a local > > # socket for connecting. > > # > > #host = > > host = localhost > > > > > > Thanking you... > > > > > > > > > > > > Marc > > > _______________________________________________ > > > DBmail mailing list > > > [email protected] > > > https://mailman.fastxs.nl/mailman/listinfo/dbmail > > > > > > > > > - -- > > > > > > With best regards and good wishes, > > > > Yours sincerely, > > > > Tek Bahadur Limbu > > > > (TAG/TDG Group) > > Jwl Systems Department > > > > Worldlink Communications Pvt.
