Why do you think "curmail_size" is the /real/ size? Mayb a regression in 2.3 does not calculated the field the right way? First thing to investigate is the actual mail size in the tables. And as Paul mentioned before, in 2.3 this is not only dbmail_messageblks anymore. The bulk goes in the mimepart tables now.
