Agreed. In the past 'OPTIMIZE' *was* used. It was replaced with 'ANALYZE'
exactly because of table locking issues and related downtime.

And I never suggested otherwise, I hope. I'm not using it on more than a single
in-house production system myself. The rest is all on 2.2.

The new threaded server code still needs some major work.
