I've installed the same setting on another machine : debian lenny 64, dbmail,
squirrelmail, postfix postgresql, etc.
Then I created the custom dbmail packages according to your guidelines, and
installed it over the old ones.
Unfortunately, there's no striking differences between a search on my
production system, and a search on the test one. (5-10 minutes at best),
needless to say any other action on the mail system is stuck/slowed to death
meanwhile (like logging with another account, opening an imap folder, an
email)
It may be a normal thing since dbmail dev priorities are db integrity and
stability, but I have to know for sure because if my setting isn't faulty
then I need to scale up to another mail system where searching through Gigs
woudl take a few seconds.

Thank you
