Hi Matteo,
and thanks for the links.
Actually I do not feel very confortable with the Uberblic search API as
a valid replacement of the DBpedia lookup service.
As Georgi said somewhere on the Internet, uberblic search api is like
dbpedia lookup service on steroids, and is its natural (unique)
replacement now.
Well, the problem is that it may also have "steroids", but I preferred
the old service without steroids and with natural muscles. :-)
Here my considerations:
1) uberblic Search API is not tailored on DBpedia, but on different
sources (ok, there is enwikipedia, but it is not exactly the same);
2) the results are quite different from the old DBpedia lookup service.
For example, with the old lookup service I was able to type “Jav” to
obtain, among the very first results, the DBpedia URI for the “Java
(programming language)”
(http://dbpedia.org/resource/Java_%28programming_language%29). On the
contrary if I try this query:
http://platform.uberblic.org/api/search_autocomplete?query=source:enwikipedia+Java&num_results=100

<http://platform.uberblic.org/api/search_autocomplete?query=source:enwikipedia+Java&num_results=100>
I can not found the expected results neither among the first 100 results.

all the best,
roberto

Gaining the trust of online customers is vital for the success of any company
that requires sensitive data to be transmitted over the Web. Learn how to
best implement a security strategy that keeps consumers' information secure
and instills the confidence they need to proceed with transactions.
