We've all been wondering for years now as to just why the electric sets from Harpur College were recorded only in mono. The acoustic set was recorded in stereo. There has been endless speculation and the 'official' verdict was 'spurious electrical activity'. I'll venture a guess that it was no accident. If you listen to the tapes of Alfred College on 5/1/70 the exact same thing occurs. The acoustic set is in stereo and the electric sets are in mono. Sounds like somebody just didn't know what they were doing, maybe a new mixer or any number of possible explanations I suppose. Just noticed, thought I'd pass it along, maybe someone else has something to add? Thanks!
