Hi Dan, thanks for the reply.

I've also built deal.II 7.1 with PETSc 3.2-p7 using intel compilers set 
11.1. When I gave it a try with PETSc 3.3-p1 using the latest Intel 
compiler set (12.1.5) the configure script could not configure the BOOST 
part. I was just wondering if someone managed to built deal.II 7.1 + 
PETSc 3.3 or I should just wait for deal.II 7.2

adverse affects to deal.ii's communication with PETSc due to changes
