This morning, my morning run brought me to Banj brdo. This place is a hill in the south of Banja Luka, with a nice view over the city and the surrounding hills. It is indeed advertized on the mini-guide with a map, which we got in the conference bags.
The full return trip from Hotel Bosna is 12.5 kilometers, so doing this by walking is probably about 3 hours. Beware that the trip "features" a 3.5km climbing on an 8% slope (the hill is 431m high while BL altitude is around 160m). An option is probably getting a cab at the hotel and ask the driver to drive you to the Banj Brdo "parking" (the road that climbs there is closed to automobiles and there is a small parking at the barrier). From there you can expect a 45 minutes walk up and about 30 minutes down (probably better asking your taxi to pick you up again or something). To reach the Banj Brdo road, here are approximative indications: - Follow Kralija Petra i Karadordevica south (this is the large avenue we cross between the venue and Hotel Bosna) for about 1.5 kilometer. - after about 1.5 kilometer, a road on the left will lead you to "Zeleni most" (I suspect this means "south bridge" but my serbian is.....very deficient). This is a very narrow bridge with a pedestrian path on one of its side. If you're crossing another bridge then you messed up somewhere - at the crossing after the bridge, turne right. There is a sign with Banj Brdo written on it. - follow the street for about 300-400 meters and turn left (there's a sign too) - the road starts climbing and, from there, you can't mess up...:-) Please note that since today, Banj Brdo is now well mapped on OSM..:-) A few views of Banj Brdo: https://gallery.debconf.org/v/debconf11/album/DSC00184.JPG.html and next pictures... _______________________________________________ Debconf-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-discuss
