Precisely - We need to set professional costs in a way that meaningfully covers the person's expenses - And that cannot be truly calculated, as it is not only their lodging and food, but also their share of paying the rent of common places (so that's the reiterated overprice). If professionals pay 1.7x or 2.1x their lodging+food value, it can be sen as paying this general rent, or as subsidizing somebody else. Of course, setting a price truthfully representing their share of common spaces when we don't know how many professional and sponsored attendees we will have is impossible.
