I'm also one of the people scratching my head about this. >From an economic and technical viewpoint, many complex solutions are >theoretically beautiful
Then they get blown out of the water by what is practical: - Can volunteers who are only part time (e.g. arriving a day early to help out, or spouses) quickly get up to speed with all this, or will they end up getting frustrated and demotivated? - How much extra effort to implement booking technology, compared to the effort of booking everyone at a single price? - If groupings need to be adjusted later to optimize space, will we be prevented from doing so by the fact that people who have already spent significant effort choosing their colour and paying the price for that colour will be reluctant to change? Looking at this discussion, my feeling is we just have a single rate for everybody and we ask Le Camp to make the necessary adjustments (e.g. removing mattresses in the bad dorms) so that it becomes fair Richard Darst <[email protected]> wrote: >This whole subthread about color names illustrates why people like me >don't provide suggestions any more (which turns into a feedback loop). >Moray has an excellent point, making things more obscure is going to >lead to problems later.
