Virtual is virtual and bare metal is bare metal. These bugs likely happen on a specific brand and model computer or smart device depending on the bare metal specifications and the bug needs sending up the chain.

It would probably be useful to try a preinstalled image: https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/cloud/trixie/latest/ and run espeakup in it, with the availability of dumping core files, etc. Samuel
