try to get potato floppys installation and retry, I did several ES40s and one DS20 without troubles.. How many processors do you have ?? If you are using more than 1 CPU, you have to update the kernet ot 2.4.0-test3 at least. If you tell me exactly your hardware I can email you a kernel-image.deb to install directly.
