Well I'd try to clear the NVRAM or reset the machine to defaults, I don't know off hand but Compaq has the manuals in pdf format on their website.
The only time I did that was from ARC, which you obviously can't do. I just notice on my Alpha in SRM there are two file clear_arc_nvram and clear_srm_nvram, I don't want to reset mine so I don't want to run them and see if they work, but it maybe worth it to you to try. > thanks, but that does not work. i have tried ARC, but it loads > alphaBIOS then says the nvram settings are corrupt and locks up > > -----Original Message----- > From: Jim Crilly [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Wednesday, January 24, 2001 9:39 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Cc: [email protected] > Subject: Re: SRM to AlphaBIOS > > > I believe all you have to is set the os_type to to NT and power > cycle/reset the box. > >> can someone tell me how to go from SRM back to AlphaBIOS/ARC? >> i need this because i belive SRM is the cause of all my problems in >> Linux. >> >> >> -- >> To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] >> with a subject of "unsubscribe".
