Thanks Adrian, for the detailed response, i will see what i can do with it.
Kaffe fails -> jre not sdk
Sablevm also fails, tomcat4 say the same thing 'jre not sdk'.  there is 
no 'kit' at ftp://ftp.tux.org/pub/java/
usable for 'alpha' older .tar.gz versions from 97-98 fail as well.
