Hi,
Because of a hardware failure I upgraded my PC to an
Athlon64. I did a fresh install of Debian pure64
on a new SATA disk. It works pretty well so far.
The problem is that I have a lot of data on another
IDE disk formatted with xfs with i386 Linux.
I tried to mount the partition under x86_64 Linux, but it
only gives me an error about a bad superblock or so
(I don't remember exactly). The strange thing is that
I can boot my old i386 Linux installation and there
I can mount the partition without any problems.
Are there any known incompatibilities between
i386 and x86_64 xfs? I tried the current AMD64
kernel from the DFS CD and also compiled my own
with xfs support. It just doesn't work.
I am using 2.6.9 now.
