From a quick look at the bug #285272 against libmysqlclient-lgpl it seems to be a Linuxthread misdetection. I maintain the normal MySQL packages and remember having had to apply some patches to ./configure related to thread detection (Linuxthread vs NPTL) in mysql-4.0 and mysql-4.1. As I'm running AMD64 at home, too, I can take a look this weekend. bye, -christian-
