Difficulties with the nvidia driver have been discussed at length for several weeks. You might want to read the thread that starts at http://lists.debian.org/debian-amd64/2005/11/msg00233.html and references therefrom. You can then decide which method ("module-assistant" or "make-kpkg") will best suit your environment (pre-compiled or self-compiled kernel).
