Hmm, how odd. Either my measurements are wrong or something else is odd. I am using 2.6.11 kernel, Athlon 64 3500+, Socket 939, Asus A8V Deluxe board (K8T800Pro chipset), hdparm version 6.1. That gives 1680MB/s. Now if I try it with hdparm version 6.9 I get 895MB/s. So either the old or the new hdparm is giving the wrong value. How odd. At least that explains why your values don't match mine. The changelog for hdparm v6.9 has: "fix X2 over-reporting of -T results" so I guess that might explain it. Make sure you measure using v6.9 or above then on both systems. -- Len Sorensen -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
