Thanks for the encouragement to follow the gfortran route. The program 
developers are considering the matter, to furnish an appropriate configuration 
and also make use of AMD math libraries for opterons. As a matter of fact, IBM 
- with BlueGene - was able to speed up by 43% the single-processor procedure 
with this program by using their specialized math libraries.
