This is insane. Using all the defaults, including the partitioning layout worked. My previous attempt was to just change the / ext4 partition to ext2, and it triggered the issue. So now I'm wondering whether I should use ext4 and swap or try to use my partitioning layout nevertheless. It seems to me like ext4 (and other journalized fs) as well as swap might kill the internal micro sdcard early. Is this an accurate view or is it safe to use ext4/swap there? In any case, there is a bug there -- my guess is that flash-kernel-installer hangs because of the partitioning layout for some reason. Note that running flash-kernel from the installed working system with my custom layout did work. Could we look forward to either finding a workaround for me or seriously fixing the issue down to the code and releasing a new installer image for wheezy? -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
