Package: base Version: 20000921 Severity: wishlist -- System Information Debian Release: 2.2 Kernel Version: Linux main 2.2.15 #2 Wed May 31 15:52:26 MDT 2000 i586 unknown I believe this sort of follows up on Bug #67231 (perl path problem for locally installed modules). If I as a user are a member of group staff, and go to install CPAN modules in /usr/local (where people in group staff have write permission), all installs fail because an ordinary user does not have permission to write (actually append) to the perllocal.pod file in /usr/lib. If perllocal.pod is supposed to contain information on LOCALLY INSTALLED perl modules, it should properly be located in /usr/local, and writable by people in group staff. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
