Section 6.3.1 of the installation manual ("Booting from a DOS partition"
http://www.debian.org/releases/frozen/i386/ch-rescue-boot.en.html#s-install-drive )
contains the following misleading reference:
4. Skip down to Booting the Installation System, Chapter 6.
We are already reading Chapter 6, so this section isn't "down".
The following section, 6.3.2, is entitled "Installing from a Linux partition".
Shouldn't this be in chapter 5, which covers installation? This is a bit
confusing.
Section 6.3.2 is also incomplete. It says one needs to get a rescue
floppy image, a Driver Floppy archive, and a base tarball. However
I found that I also needed a root floppy image. And it says so on the
page http://www.debian.org/releases/frozen/i386/ch-install-methods.en.html
in section 5.4.2 under the heading "Root image(s):".
Also, the manual doesn't say what is to be done with the "driver
archive" and the "base system" tarballs when one is installing
from a hard disk.
