On oss.lineo.com I use the following in CVSROOT/loginfo:

    busybox /cvs/CVSROOT/dolog.pl -r /cvs
[EMAIL PROTECTED],[EMAIL PROTECTED]
    [-------more stuff snipped--------]
    DEFAULT /cvs/CVSROOT/dolog.pl -r /cvs [EMAIL PROTECTED]

It produces commit messages that look like this:

        Repository: busybox
        who: andersen
        time: Wed Oct 25 22:17:49 MDT 2000

        Log Message:
This was broken when applets moved to applets.h. Fix it.

        Files:
        changed: busybox.mkll

I have attached dolog.pl which I have modified quite a bit. This works for me
and has been in production since June...
