Package: boot-disks
Version: 2.2.20.0.1-2000-12-03
Booted with above bootdisks (rescue.bin). It reports 12580/15360k
available.
But in my machine I have 256 Megabytes memory, windows and the bios report
the correct size.

You need to boot with the 'mem=...' argument. See the Linux Bootargs
HOWTO.
This is an issue between the Linux kernel hackers and your hardware
manufacturer; it is not a bug on the boot-floppies, and morever there
is a workaround (see above), so I am closing this bug.
