It seems that we have two interacting bugs, as far as I can
understand:
libfdisk, and therefore dbootstrap, was ordering *BSD slices
incorrectly with respect to extended partitions; they should be put
*after* the extended partitons, but they weren't being
the compact and idepci kernels don't have BSD disklabel support; all
installation kernels need to be consistent (vanilla, udma66, idepci,
compact)
I'm having a hard time to slog through all the messages and such, but
if anyone has some counter-evidence to my conclusion above, I'd like
to hear it.
