Newbie: boot from floppy too slow

moin moin, just now I install a test Debian, i have already WIN2000+SuSE, the debian only for kernel and programm test. so i boot it from floppy, but boot-phase is too slow!!! Have anyone idea, why is it so slow? what can i do? Thinks in advance! Chuan
