Comments/Problems:

<Description of the install, in prose, and any thoughts, comments
and ideas you had during the initial install.>

I started the installation with that CD. It seems all okay but after the
installation of the base-system the installer turns back to the main-menu.
Which is unusual because as I know the new debian-installer it leads me from
point to point of the installation. This behavior of deposit me in the
main-menu I know only form the old installer. And the point which was colored
or activated by the installer was "installation of the base-system". So I took
the next step and clicked on "create user and root password (or something like
that) and this also worked. But after that I fall back on the point "installing
a base-system".
I got a warning that the system is nood clean, there is data of an old
installation and so on...
Form that point I never came forth! The installation stucks. I tried it with
non-grafical-installation, but this has the same problem. I found later a CD
with a 2-3 weeks old netinstall-image and I finished my installation allready.
Is not a problem any more, but with that image I got an 08.26 is a problem. As
I mentioned before, I tested the image with qemu and a installation on a
virtual-harddisk, with the same result. So it has nothing to do with the HW.

I hope I could help to solve a problem. If you have any questions, don't
hesitate to ask me.

Gruss Christian

I am pretty sure that this is a duplicate of #496598: the source package
base-installer builds both an "Architecture: any" and an "Architecture:
all" binary packages. While the later being available immediately, the
former needs to be built for every architectures. As one part depends
on the other, there was a time window in which the version mismatch made
the installer fail.

A newer installation image should not exhibit this problem, I am
therefore closing this bug. Please re-open if I am wrong.

Cheers,
