It's not a problem for lenny-and-a-half, unless we call dmraid in the chroot target as well as the D-I environment. The D-I environment has to be consistent by definition [1]. So, please _do_ clean up, except for chroot calls (and a very quick glance tells me there probably aren't any). [1] Etch-n-half very simply uses the Lenny installer. It's not some weird hybrid between the Etch and Lenny installers. That really would be broken by definition and asking for trouble.
