Between this spring and now, busybox-udeb has grown in size by some 52k. Since the d-i system is too big to fit on a floppy right now, we badly need to trim this back.
First of all, remove the busybox vi support from busybox-udeb. We shouldn't need it on the boot floppy. If there is anything else that you can identify that has grown in size, or any easy size reduction hacks, please feel free to try to save more space. I don't see any additional programs that were turned on at least, aside from vi. A few programs I can see that I can't imagine d-i is using right now at least (I don't know if turning them off saves anything much though (but bear library reduction in mind; it might save pulling in a big symbol even if it's tiny in busybox)): halt, loadkmap, mkswap, poweroff, swapoff, swapon, chgrp, chmod, chown, date, dd, gzip (but we need gunzip), more, sleep, vi, zcat If it does not interfere with the freeze (package waiting for testing or so), please upload ASAP, I'd like to get d-i trimmed back down to size by next wednesday. If this would be a problem, please upload to somewhere else, so I can get the udeb. -- see shy jo -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
