See seems like you can't install from usb+iso following instructuions from such page, this bug and a thread in debian-user mail list verify that. (isos are from http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/squeeze_di_alpha1/i386/iso-cd/ (feb 2010)) and boot.img.gz linked are from http://ftp.nl.debian.org/debian/dists/testing/main/installer-i386/current/images/hd-media/ (sept 2010).
