I disagree with using disk-by-id.

- It can prevent your system from booting on when you replace your disk  
controller/mainboard.
- Causes problems when converting physical servers to virtual machines.
- And is incompatible with the virtual KVM rescue systems dedicated server 
providers offer to their customers to diagnose boot problems.
