So, the debhelper compat bump from 7 to 9 really should have been triple checked. It is responsible for the empty package (lowering to 7 or 8 makes the package unempty again). It would really be nice to run debdiff against source+binary packages before/after thorough packaging change like this one. Be it because one is the committer, or the uploader.
