Comments/Problems:
<Description of the install, in prose, and any thoughts, comments
and ideas you had during the initial install.>
Replacing Windows XP with Linux.
Install went fine. When system rebooted, Gnome failed to start.
(Gnome failed on the previously
installed Fedora 19 release too). I was hoping to install KDE with
Debian on this
install, but that wasn't an easy choice. At least with Debian, there
was a fallback to
a usable terminal window (Fedora hung waiting for the desktop init to complete).
Would like to have an option during install to select from a list of
Desktop GUIs.
Gnome, KDE, ???

That's one possibility. There's also a bug report tracking the
possibility of including that choice into the regular debconf-based
questions/answers process, so keeping this one bug report around isn't
necessary.
Al, thanks for the report anyway.
