I tried it out with the 3.0.18 boot floppies (well the reiserfs version), and this problem appears fixed. I choose latin0 : french + euro in the menu, and got a french azerty keymap, without further error message. The Euro key (alt gr + e) only shows a grey square, but i guess this is because the euro symbol is not supported in the keymap or the kernel, or whatever, and has nothing to do with the input keymap support which should be fine. Anyway, appart from not showing the euro symbol, it works as expected and gives a working azerty keymap. That said, the latin0 stuff sounds still strange to me, but then ...
