In this case you could try to add to the kernel command line (at the IPL prompt) one (or both) of: hp_sdc.blacklist=yes hp_sdc.no_hpsdc=1Awesome! hp_sdc.no_hpsdc=1 does the trick. Thanks much for the great help!
