Package: boot-floppies Version: N/A; reported 2002-02-06 I recently (a few days ago) installed woody on an DELL Inspirion 5000e, and I had the same problem:
I went through the install menues, configured the PCMCIA stuff, according to the log output on the tty4(?) console, all was ok, and wanted to setup the network device for installation via network, but it didn't work. In the log output, there was an entry that the module can't be loaded, because it is already loaded, and the install menue reported network will be available when PCMCIA gets activated. Going back to PCMCIA, and redoing the configuration activated the network device, but the line telling the pcmcia module can't be loaded reappeared in the log output. Though I was able to ifconfig the network device, the install program didn't recognize that fact. Sorry for the late bug report, and sory if it got fixed already, but I was quite busy with exams and preparing a move the last few days.
