The only two ‘task’ packages I installed were task-print-server and
task-ssh-server. print-server is not small.

On the other hand, some of the individual packages I installed so I could
comfortably run an X-session via “ssh -X” , such as xterm, xpdf, xinit,
iceweasel, icedove, and a few others, do seem to drag in a lot of other stuff,
much of it of questionable value on a headless machine. So maybe that accounts
for my added size over your 617M.

When I get a couple of spare hours, I’ll fire up a VM and see just how much is
added by the various packages I routinely load as part of my “customization”
procedure after an install.

“Fascinating!” (said with one raised eyebrow and a slight tilt of the head…)
