I specified this in the installation screens. In Xorg the deadkeys do not work, for example if i want a circumflex accent on the o i type ^ and the o. This works fine in squeeze but shows like ^o in wheezy. -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.1 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=locale: Cannot set LC_CTYPE to default locale: No such file or directory locale: Cannot set LC_MESSAGES to default locale: No such file or directory locale: Cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: No such file or directory ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash

For some reasons this bug became reassigned to console-setup but from the contents of the file /etc/default/keyboard we can conclude that it does not really belong to console-setup. Unfortunately, I have no idea what package it belongs to. It makes no sense to keep this bug open in console-setup as obviously none of the maintainers of console-setup can do anything about it. Therefore, I am closing it now. If you still observe the misbehaviour of the deadkeys, please report the bug again. I suppose one of the packages xkb-data or xorg-xserver will be a suitable targed as (hopefully) its maintainer will know better what to do about it. Anton Zinoviev
