I'm sorry to hear you've run into this issue. A google for: debian 8 live-cd username password produced the following top result: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/30842216/debian-8-live-cd-what-is-the-standard-login-and-password So username=user and password=live. Ubuntu has the identical behaviour of needing a password when the screensaver comes up on the live-cd, but their username is ubuntu and their password is blank. > Or you might call it kafkaesque: trying your best in a battle against strange > unknown forces.
