No. That is wrong conclusion. What I'm saying is that user_friendly_names has had issues in the past. Today, they still have the burden of, when used, to ensure that the binding file is propagated and remains up-to-date. Eg. initrd, cluster setups. Device names based on wwid are unique and persistent. What we are doing is just making a recommendation of Best Practices. Each feature has its merits and drawbacks. - -- Ritesh Raj Sarraf | http://people.debian.org/~rrs Debian - The Universal Operating System -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQIzBAEBCgAdFiEEQCVDstmIVAB/Yn02pjpYo/LhdWkFAliLCSwACgkQpjpYo/Lh dWlEDw/+PmG0NbqI13pKSBbbXXWhtKSyJGuqyzaMCdGGUIeo7aXwu+YKVUZ3TZvU 3xNHj2/W+ZbGjincnO+yU8z8S68LzidlMca8Khw2l8ZaMzaiFvlgZ+Fm1+H3U5a7 zRIxGh26krYDXoWPH939S+2FSPE/Cnvv3DNid7F17BPwXeStlxhHpNX5jtgXEfPR tnampOd32W1aAPQ+uxmi9muxcLs8R8YD7ewjdEDaFabyw/x0s9EfngRRAz8DwZKH d1TaoTbVJIPwV54WWQhM5CD8o9Ys2wqRIMRk2Lq/N2z2HjYeZ9kBsv/pcktjKDuH r2M6N+KVtvxVDpi7UcVhdb2vZnM9ZjC2o4/1nLbhe98JtVg4omGR1g92/6HTgumz 28eZIJeKEUN7UBfALRD3RSG7ww4ihSK9tThFmcxuGSK5p1KGVCkgdLsdo3BJyAda luJyWYyzlRlLsOrySC/N2LHj7Ea/fEsK94MF901DudbliaX4UIizzlIt91SNjMNE 10ebGrblWCSGrrKKnWvvW7IJBP9ovaGggQNS0kFIi4FXL962TrS1bPa5k0I+Lwpn yGppGMW7LFTTDe2+5e429FCPWZnZaNFyWab16dYJG4cG8p2fEvR2MhDef8sADl/Z jLlcn859YObmHZefnLujDmKqkfRIYFYHAd3Xx9WRaNxgMx8jW94= =sgh+ -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
