I opened PR [1] for your consideration which would be a rewrite with the suggested changes. Looking much simpler now, but I can't test that so I'd ask people with VMWare to give that a sanity check. @Oliver Kurth <[email protected]> maybe you can give that a shot if it would suit your needs?
