This is normal. Please boot with "linux.bin debug" to see additional
debug messages.

Please go to the second console and do:

 mount /dev/fd0 /mnt -t auto
 mount /dev/fd0 /mnt -t vfat
 mount /dev/fd0 /mnt -t msdos

And tell which did work. Further, try after base system installation:

 chroot /target
 superformat /dev/fd0
 mformat a:
