Hi Here I have a revised german release_notes copy (boot-floppies/scripts/rootdisk/messages/de/). I don't know who the orginal translater was/is, and I don't want to complain at all!! It's just that I felt that the german translation is a bit doggerel (I don't know if that's the correct english term, I could also say bumpy). As I am a native german speaker, I thought I'm going to have a look at the text once, and beneath is the result.
I've provided the original English version as well as the original German version so you are able to compare. At the bottom, there's the new text. I paid special attention to the line count, so that now the original and the new text are equally counting 25 lines. The longest line has 74 characters, I think that should work as the longest English line has 75 characters. I also changed the "http://www.de.debian.org/"; to "<URL:http://www.de.debian.org/>" as in the English original (I don't know what the internal difference is!). Oh, ah, btw., what does www.de.debian.org do? I think it should bring us the translated pages, but (at least on my browsers) it doesn't.. Please note that Seite (before the url provided) isn't correct. There seems to be NO nice german translation ot the term site, but today the term Site became usually used in german. I am sorry I can't provide a diff, so it maybe best to just comit the whole new text to the cvs, instead of changing the local cvs copy and then upload it.
