install xserver-xorg-input-synaptics, so it was not possible to
configure some things like tap-to-click.

I'm closing this bug since xserver-xorg-input-synaptics is not
required any more in many cases. If it's needed for a particular
package, please file a bug there. This bug was filed against tasksel.
